The SafeStaff® Program is the State of Florida’s Contracted foodhandler training program and has been jointly developed by the Florida Restaurant Association (FRA) and Food Safety Training, Inc. (FST).
The State of Florida mandates that all foodservice employees be trained in an approved food safety program. A public foodservice establishment has 60 days from date of hire to train their employees with a Florida approved food safety training program. The foodservice establishment shall be issued an original certificate foreach employee certified and the employee shall receive an original wallet card. Such cardor certificate shall be produced bya certified foodservice employee or by the public foodservice establishment, respectively, in its duly issued original form upon request of the division. The training is valid for three (3) years. Managers are now required to keep reords of all SafeStaff ® Foodhandler Training.
